Baseball and Veggie Burgers
I went to the MN Twins home opener yesterday...the weather was 34 degrees when the game started...I was definitely bundled up majorly. My best friend and I snuggled under a blanket, chatted and both enjoyed veggie burgers that are offered at Target Field. They actually have a lot of better concessions options than most sports facilities. I didn't snap a picture of my burger because I was eating it so fast so that I could get my mittens back on! But here's an image of what it looked like, except I totally put ketchup on mine .
I was wearing so many layers of clothing I felt like that little boy in "A Christmas Story" with my arms straight out! Would you have braved the cold for baseball? I had to I <3 the Twins, even when they aren't good...which is often
I also ate some Easter candy when I got home...not my greatest day but also not the worst, did a lot of walking around the park and in the city back to the car and stuff. Tonight I will be running...and NOT eating candy.
Random fact: About 25 years ago I got to see the MN Twins play! I lived in Northern CA, and my high school marching band was doing a show with other bands in between a double header with the Twins and Oakland A's.
ReplyDeleteNot only do I love random facts, but I was in marching band too and I am so jealous you did a show during an MLB game!!!! how awesome!!!!!!
DeleteI love that they have food that anyone can eat at Target Field!
ReplyDeleteYeah I am really impressed by the variety they have there and how they offer so many different things like vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. It's pretty nice
DeleteOh my goodness. No WAY I would've been at that game. Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteWe have a minor league team for the Cardinals here in Memphis, and I've only been to a few games, but I was impressed with the quality of the food. There's junky, day-at-the-ballpark kinds of foods, but there are also veggie options and foods from local "real-food" type restaurants.
Yeah it was *almost* not worth it because it was so cold AND we lost, but it was still an experience for sure! I think stadiums are realizing people actually care about the food they eat now, and not just crap hot dogs and fries all the time :)
