It's May Now, No More SNOW

I kid you not, there are still mentions of the "S" word in our weather forecasts...after we just had a few days in the 70s with gorgeous blue skies and wispy white clouds, where I could go outside in flip flops and play with the brown dogs, let the sun shine on my pale skin and absorb that Vitamin D....and now it could potentially snow again.

I'm not sure why the settlers even stayed through one winter here, I would have loaded up my wagon, rounded up my children and oxen and headed West to the beach or something.

I've officially switched to iced coffee, what I prefer in the summer- and I have NO intention of going back to hot coffee until October or something.

Breakfast was Blood Orange flavor Greek Yogurt and clementines!
I was on an orange kick I guess :)

Yesterday for lunch I had a leftover hamburger from Sunday night grilling, man those Costco patties are huge, next time we plan to slice them in half for sure! Not pictured was more of my delicious watermelon that the bf and I will be eating for DAYS because we have so much- but hey I'm not complaining!

For dinner I wanted to grill, something I've done maybe twice now in my life but I think I might enjoy it! I always thought grilling was a "man job" because growing up, my dad was usually the one who grilled, grills are big and scary and hot and have propane and it just seems like something the boy should do.  But recently I have started to think that it is kinda fun and I want to do it too. So I grilled up some BBQ chicken, grilled some romaine with garlic and Parmesan cheese and had my absolute favorite garlic pull-aparts from Target- which I know aren't very healthy but with grilled chicken and lettuce I just wanted a little something extra :)

Oh, and the other night we went to this grain and feed store to pick up fertilizer for our lawn- we laid sod last spring and we are worried it isn't coming back so we wanted to give it some food. Anyways this little gem of a store is right in the middle of a bigger suburb but it feels like it should be out in the country. It's adorable, and sitting outside guarding the loading dock to the barn building was this little precious baby, I will call him Figaro..not even sure if its a boy or girl, but nonetheless, he is Figaro. I wanted to pet him because I adore cats but he got a little nervous and ran away from me.

Anyhoo, hope ya'll had a good Tuesday and have a wonderful May Day...isn't it like the day you are supposed to bring flowers to people's doors or something? Well I totally would if we even HAD any flowers !!

  3. So sorry for your snow woes! I thought of you when Al Roker was talking about possible snow headed your way.

Fwiw, I think chicken + lettuce + bread = balanced meal. Good for you!
